Being romantically proposed to is every girl’s dream! And Charleston SC makes the perfect backdrop for any swoon-worthy proposal. Below I’ve included my favorite places to propose to your sweetheart! You won’t want to miss this!

Rainbow Row

Rainbow Row is one of the most photographed and recognizable places in downtown Charleston. Beautiful painted homes one after another. For a surprise proposal, this would be a perfect backdrop!

The Battery

The Battery is a stretch of walkway along the water at the front of downtown Charleston. In the summer is has all kinds of blooming flowers along the side of the road, and speedboats and sailboats in the harbor. It really is a perfect stretch to drop down on one knee!

Outside of downtown Charleston, I suggest going to a plantation hall.

Magnolia Plantations

Magnolia Plantations is a beautiful plantation home just outside of downtown Charleston. It’s not a far drive, and the whole entire plantation is beautiful. There are large grassy areas perfect for lunch picnics under blooming jasmine, wide white bridges that create painterly backdrops and gardens teeming with beautiful flowers. Any spot in the plantation garden would be perfect for a dreamy proposal!

Any of the beaches. Specifically,

Folly Beach + Sullivans Island

Folly Beach and Sullivans Island or Isle of Palms, are beautiful places for a sunset proposal. Crashing waves, colorful skies and of course, soft sand. Take a stroll down the beach after getting ice cream from any of the local shops, or set up a towel and watch the sunset. You can’t get better than a classic beach proposal!
