Studios are such a fun way to mix up sessions, and this session was no different. Shooting in a studio forces me to get creative because I’m not relying on scenery and lighting to help tell the story. I’m solely focusing on the couple that I’m photographing. This offers a nice way of keeping the focus where it should be – on the story of the people I’m capturing. Sometimes it’s easy to get distracted by gorgeous light or flower fields. The simplicity of a studio and a backdrop is just that – simple.
Erika + Caleb always have the best ideas for their sessions, and this one included! When Erika suggested a studio for their maternity session, I was excited! It’s not very often I get to photograph in studios, and it just happened to work perfectly because it started pouring on the day of their session. If you’re looking for a great studio, I highly recommend Haven Studios in Lancaster!
